Pressed into immediate service at Mississippi State upon his arrival on campus from the junior college ranks and his service to his country ... Was deployed with his Mississippi National Guard unit to Iraq for 18 months in 2004 and ’05 ... Has played in 24 of 25 games for the Bulldogs, seeing most of his work on special teams and as a reserve in the linebacker and then defensive line corps ... Started State’s 2007 AutoZone Liberty Bowl victory over Central Florida ... Has registered 32 tackles, including three and one-half for loss (minus 15 yards), one-half of which was a quarterback sack (minus 4 yards) ... 2007:
Played in all 13 games for the Bulldogs during his junior campaign, seeing extensive work on special teams and as a defensive lineman ... Listed as a reserve at defensive end, he moved inside in some defensive schemes and lined up over the opposing center ... Made 25 total tackles on the year, three of which were tackles for loss (minus 11 yards) ... Also knocked down two passes at the line of scrimmage ... Had at least one hit in all 13 contests ... Made a pre-season camp move from linebacker to defensive end and opened the season as a top reserve on both sides, and had a solid opener at his new position ... Saw action from the outset of his sophomore season at Mississippi State as a reserve at inside linebacker and on special teams ... Played in 11 of a possible 12 games during his first season on campus ... Only missed seeing action during the team’s Week 5 game at LSU due to injury ... Made seven tackles on the season, a total that included a half quarterback sack (minus 4 yards) ... Recorded the first statistics of his sophomore season in Week 2 with a pair of hits against Auburn ... Did not play in Week 5 after suffering a minor knee injury during game-week preparations ...
