STARKVILLE, Miss. – An all-access look at Mississippi State's 35-10 victory against BYU will air on SEC Network Wednesday night as head coach Dan Mullen and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham enter the SEC Film Room at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The 30-minute show hosted by Matt Stinchcomb will re-air at 9:30 p.m. CT and be available on demand at WatchESPN.com.
Stinchcomb sat down with Mullen and Grantham the day after State's fourth win of the season, breaking down specific plays and giving an insightful look into the Bulldogs' offensive and defensive success.
Grantham's unit currently ranks in the Top 10 nationally in three different categories, including eighth in total defense (284.8), fourth in passing defense (155.0) and first in first down defense (72). The 284.8 yards per game allowed is the best by a State defense since the stout 1999 squad allowed only 222.5.
Offensively, Nick Fitzgerald and Aeris Williams each went over 100 yards rushing in the BYU win. The Bulldogs are one of four Power 5/Independent teams who boast a quarterback-running back duo each averaging over 70.0 yards per game rushing. Williams ranks fourth in the SEC in rushing yards per game with 87.2. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald is third in the league in total offense at a 245.0 clip.
State (4-2, 1-2 SEC) returns to action against Kentucky (5-1, 2-1) for Homecoming at 3 p.m. Saturday in Davis Wade Stadium. Tickets for the contest are still available at HailState.com/tickets, by calling 1-888-GO-DAWGS or in person at the MSU Athletic Ticket Office on the first floor of the Bryan Athletic Administration Building (288 Lakeview Drive), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
