Senior Evie Grace Singleton tallied 16 kills on Sunday, moving into a tie for second place on MSU's single-season kills list.
Dogs Fall At LSU To Close Out 2016 Road Play

BATON ROUGE, La. – In the final match away from Starkville this season, the Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-17, 4-11) fell in straight sets to the LSU Tigers (9-16, 4-10) at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The opening set saw the birthday duo of Evie Grace Singleton and Jelena Vujcin lead the way with five kills each. MSU jumped out to a 7-4 lead before LSU went on a 12-6 run and won the set 25-21.
The teams traded points for most of the second set until an 8-2 LSU run ultimately made the difference, as the Tigers took the set 25-23. Freshman Emily Hill paced the Bulldogs in kills with four in the set and added an ace.
Coming out the locker room, LSU jumped out to a 10-4 advantage. The Bulldogs would rally late and pull to within three points. However, the Tigers held strong and closed out the match, 25-20.
Singleton continues to add to her historic season, earning 16 more kills and 2 service aces. She now stands tied for second with Jennifer Shupe (1996) with 447 kills this year. Hill and Vujcin joined Singleton in the double-digit kill category with 12 and 10, respectively. Senior Bali Leffall-Young led the Bulldogs on the defensive end with two blocks, while Cheyenne Spell added a team-high 11 digs.
The Bulldogs return home to close out the 2016 season with three matches to go. MSU and in-state rival Ole Miss will battle on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

Singleton Closing In On School Record…
Senior Evie Grace Singleton's 16 kills on Sunday pushed her up into a tie for second place on the MSU single-season kills list. She has 447 on the year, which ties Jennifer Shupe's 1996 campaign. She is now just 66 kills away from tying Christine Owen's school record of 513 kills in 1997.
Singleton Continues Birthday Success…
For the second-straight year, Singleton put on a show on her birthday. The now 22-year old Little Rock, Ark., native tallied 13 kills versus Auburn last season on her birthday and tacked on 16 today, giving her a total of 29.
And Vujcin Shines On Her Birthday, Too…
Jelena Vujcin also celebrated her birthday on Sunday. The MSU junior tacked on 10 kills as she turned 21-years old on the day of MSU's 2016 road finale.
Hill Moving On Up The Record Book…
With 12 kills on the day, Emily Hill continued her climb up the MSU freshman record books. She now has 322 kills on the season, breaking the tie with Rachel Cooper (2002) and taking over sole possession of fourth place. She is one away from tying Aimee York's 1989 rookie season of 323 kills for third.
