Lady Bulldog Tennis To Host UK, VU This Weekend

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Coming off of an outstanding 4-3 come-from-behind victory against No. 29 Arkansas this past Sunday, Mississippi State's Lady Bulldog tennis squad will host the University of Kentucky in an SEC showdown at 2 p.m. this Friday, followed by a match against 23rd-ranked Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

State (7-10, 1-7 SEC), now ranked No. 62 nationally after its upset in Fayetteville, plans to carry the momentum from that win into this weekend's competition.

Highlights from MSU's most recent match included clutch three-set comeback victories from Alexandra Perper, Ekaterina Iakovleva and Petra Ferancova. The newcomer Iakovleva went 4-0 in singles and doubles in MSU's two matches on the road last weekend as well.

The win over Arkansas was State's highest ranked win on the road since the 2000 season.
