STARKVILLE, Miss. - After pulling off a 2-0 mark in last week's competition during spring break, Mississippi State Lady Bulldog tennis will now face No. 2 ranked Florida at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre Friday afternoon. Friday's match is set to begin at 2 p.m.

Last week, Mississippi State defeated No. 52 Tulane in a come-from-behind 4-3 win before blanking New Orleans 7-0 to end the week on the road. State's Alexandra Perper, Ekaterina Iakovleva, Petra Ferancova and Roseline Dion all went undefeated in singles play in those contests.

The 116th-ranked Perper will lead the Lady Bulldogs against the Lady Gators' five ranked singles players and three ranked doubles duos.

Allie Will represents Florida as the No. 1 ranked singles player in the nation. Florida also boasts two more top twenty ranked singles players, No. 14 Lauren Embree and No. 19 Joanna Mather. Will pairs up with Sofie Oyen to hold the No. 3 position in the ITA doubles rankings followed by Embree and Mather at the No. 11 spot.
