STARKVILLE, Miss. - Junior Alexandra Perper will make the trek to Pacific Palisades, Calif., this week to represent the Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs in the 28th annual ITA All-American Championships. The tournament is the first major of the college tennis campaign.

In her third year at MSU, Perper has been a consistent leader for the Lady Bulldog squad. Currently ranked No. 122 in the nation, she will be able to set the tone in the first college grand slam of the season.

Perper will begin competition at 10 a.m. on Saturday against Patricia Fargas of DePaul in the tournament's pre-qualifying singles draw. In order to advance to the qualifying round, she must win three consecutive matches. Should she survive both prequalifying and qualifying, she would then compete in the main draw, which begins Thursday, October 4.

Updates on Perper's progress in the event will be available through hailstate.com and on Twitter (@mstateWT). The ITA will also be posting information through Twitter (@ITAtennis) and through the hashtag #RivieraITA.
