Women’s Tennis Set To Open 2012 Fall Campaign

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Friday will mark the beginning of the 2012-13 campaign for Mississippi State Women's Tennis as the Lady Bulldogs head to Alabama for the Auburn Invitational.

With the addition of three new freshman, the squad is eager to kickoff the season and reap the benefits of an off-season of hard work.

MSU's returning players include Alexandra Perper, Roseline Dion, Naomi Tran, and Petra Ferancova. Dion, Tran, and Perper will represent the Lady Bulldogs in this weekend's match. Perper was a top 100 player nationally last spring. Joining the Lady Bulldog squad this season are Sarai Flores of Mexico City, Mexico, Lien Van Geel of Tessenderlo, Belgium, and Georgiana Patrasc of Bacau, Romania.

"This tournament is very early in our season, so it will be a good measure of where are girls are with their games. The players and coaches will be able to see a lot from this early event," said Greenan.

The Auburn Invitational is set to last through Sunday. Results will be posted on hailstate.com throughout the weekend.
