ERIE, Colo - Action continued Friday at the Colorado National Golf Course as the second round of the NCAA West Regional concluded.

Mississippi State standout freshman Ally McDonald posted a 2-over par 74 for the second round and currently sits at fifth place among individual regional qualifiers.

However, she must finish no lower than second place to advance to the championship tournament on May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Nashville, Tenn.

"Today was a much better day. My play is not as good as I want it to be, but I am pleased considering the conditions. I have another day to move up the leaderboards and see where it gets me," McDonald said.

After two rounds of play, McDonald's overall score for the regional currently sits at 153.The Fulton, Miss., native is on pace to become MSU's all-time single-season freshman scoring record holder, as she is only two-hundredths of a stroke away from setting the overall mark.

McDonald will finish tournament play Saturday as she tees off at 9:25 to finish the NCAA West Regional.
