LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Ally McDonald’s two-round, 1-over-par 145 has the Mississippi State women’s golf team on pace for a fourth-consecutive Top 10 finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.

McDonald fired a 2-over-par 74 on Monday to remain one shot back of tournament leader Christina Vosters (Penn State). The sophomore standout is in search of her first-career win after posting a second-place finish in the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate a year ago.

“Ally has put herself in great position to get her first win,” third-year MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “She has managed to rebound and epitomize our ‘one-shot warrior’ mentality. As our co-captain, Ally is a tremendous leader, and I look forward to watching her compete during the final round.”

MSU turned in a 307 for the second round to secure an eighth-place spot entering Tuesday’s final round. State is trying to cap the fall with four straight Top 10 finishes, a feat not accomplished since 2005.

Just behind McDonald, Rica Tse notched a 77 to tally an 8-over-par 152 through two rounds. She is currently just inside the Top 25 with a share of 21st-place.

Freshman Gabi Oubre’ posted the biggest turnaround for the Lady Bulldogs. After carding an 81 during Sunday’s opening round, she recovered with a 76 on Monday. Her current 157 tally also matches Mary Langdon Gallagher’s two-round total. Sophomore Elena Warren completed the MSU leaderboard with a 161.

No. 50 UCF used a second-round 293 to climb six spots and overtake first-place at 20-over-par. No. 25 Penn State and No. 41 Indiana State trail UCF by two and three strokes, respectively.

Final-round action begins at 9:45 CT with the Lady Bulldogs slated to tee off alongside SEC-foe Missouri and San Diego State.
