Tse Leads Lady Bulldogs' Climb Up Leaderboard During Final Round

Sophomore Rica Tse notched a final-round 1-under-par 71 to lead the Lady Bulldogs' late climb up the leaderboard Tuesday.

Columbia, Mo. - Sophomore Rica Tse's final-round 1-under-par 71 propelled Mississippi State's late climb up the leaderboard of the Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne on Monday.

MSU turned in a team tournament-best 10-over-par 298 during the final round. After sliding as low as 10th  on the front nine, Ginger Brown-Lemm's squad recovered to turn in a seventh-place finish.

Tse's three-consecutive birdies on No. 18, 1 and 2 paced her late charge up the poll and secured the Lady Bulldogs' second-consecutive Top 10 to begin the season. Tse finished at with a 6-over-par, 17th-place card.

Ally McDonald earned the team's top spot on leaderboard with a share of 10th-place. After opening the tournament with a 74 and 71 on Monday, she notched a 75 during the final 18 holes to tally a two-day 4-over-par 220.

Freshman Gabi Oubre' continues to impress as she posted a 14-over-par 230. The Mobile native sandwiched a 74 and 76 around an 80 and narrowly missed a Top 25 finish.

Logan Chaney and Mary Langdon Gallagher rounded out the Maroon and White board with a 239 and 244, respectively.

38th-ranked SMU claimed the Johnie Imes Invitational title with a 12-over-par 876. The Mustangs used a tournament-best 284 in the second round to secure the top spot. Melanie White of SMU carded an 8-under-par 208 to win the individual title.
