Govero Named To Capital One Academic All-District First Team

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State senior Mary Kathryn Govero was one of just five women's basketball players to be named to the District 6 Capital One Academic All-District First Team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

Govero, who leads the Lady Bulldogs in scoring this season, averaging 11.3 points a game. The Clinton, Miss.,-native also leads MSU in 3-point shooting this season, having connected on 44 3-point shots.

Already having completed her undergraduate work in Kinesiology at Mississippi State with a 3.97 GPA, Govero is now pursing her masters degree.

Govero is now eligible for the Academic All-American team which will be voted on later in February.
