STARKVILLE, Miss. – Friday’s scheduled 6:30 p.m. SEC baseball series-opener at Dudy Noble Field between Mississippi State (10-4) and South Carolina (10-2) has been postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled as part of a Saturday doubleheader that will begin at 3 p.m. There will be a 30-minute break between games.
A pair of left-handers, junior Tyler Whitney (1-0, 0.82) and freshman Nick Routt (2-0, 1.42), are slated to toe the rubber for the Bulldogs in the doubleheader, MSU’s third of the young season. The 17th-ranked Gamecocks have announced sophomore right-hander Sam Dyson (2-0, 0.49) as their projected starting pitcher for the series-opener.
The stadium ticket office and gates open two hours prior to game time. Season tickets for either of the first two games of the South Carolina series will be honored at Saturday's doubleheader.
The series finale is set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
