Junior right-hander and one of three Bulldog hurlers to have earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors • Enters the 2012 campaign with a 10-10 record, a 5.25 earned run average and 152 strikeouts in 154.1 innings pitched in his first two seasons • Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.

2011:
Took the mound in 17 games, concluding his sophomore campaign with a 5-7 worksheet and a 5.21 earned run average • Paced MSU hurlers with 14 starts, 76.0 innings pitched and 76 strikeouts • Pitched six innings or better in eight of his first nine games • Moved to a relief role in postseason play • Registered a staff-leading four of MSU's 14 quality pitching starts • Struck out 10 and scattered six hits over 6.0 innings in his season debut, a win against Lamar (Feb. 19) • Totaled a staff season-best 13 strikeouts with four hits and no walks in a season-longest 7.2-inning start and win against Belmont (Feb. 26) • Also earned a non-conference win against Georgia State (Mar. 5) and SEC wins against Auburn (7.1 IP, Mar. 26), and at Tennessee (5.2 IP, May 8) • Finished with a 2-7 record and a 7.43 ERA in 10 SEC starts (46.0 IP) • Earned a berth on the 2011 SEC Academic Honor Roll • One of three Bulldogs to earn perfect 4.0 grade point averages during the 2011 fall term • Fashioned a 1-1 record with a 2.18 ERA pitching for the 2011 Cape Cod League champion Harwich (Mass.) 2010: 
Appeared in 14 games, all as a starter • Posted a 5-3 record with a 5.29 earned run average, pacing the MSU staff with starts (14), innings pitched (78.1) and strikeouts (76) and tying Greg Houston for most pitching wins (5) • Became the third Bulldog and second MSU pitcher to receive SEC All-Freshman team honors • Led SEC freshman hurlers with 55 strikeouts in league competition and rated as one of only two SEC freshman pitcher to start all 10 conference weekends • Earned a win and contributed to MSU's lone shutout of the campaign in his collegiate debut with six scoreless innings against Rhode Island (Feb. 20) • Tallied a personal-best and staff season-high nine strikeouts in a 7.1 inning start and win against Southeast Missouri (Mar. 6) • Notched the first of his three SEC wins with a 5.0 inning start at eventual NCAA champion South Carolina (Apr. 3) • Recorded a career-first nine-inning complete game win over Tennessee (Apr. 17) before 11,089 fans at Dudy Noble Field on Super Bulldog Weekend • Recorded eight strikeouts and the staff's third-longest outing (8.0 innings) in a no-decision start against Vanderbilt (May 15) • Earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors on the final weekend, blanking defending NCAA champ LSU (May 21) and allowing three hits over seven innings in a 2-1 win in Baton Rouge • Worked five innings or better in nine of his 14 starts and paced the staff with five quality starts (six or more innings pitched with three or fewer earned runs allowed) • Joined four other Bulldog rookies on the 2010 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: 
Three-year starter as a right-handed pitcher and infielder at Tupelo High School • Coached at THS by Gary Enis • Compiled a 7-2 record with a save and a 1.09 earned run average as a senior • Recorded 113 strikeouts and allowed only 12 earned runs in 70.1 innings of mound duty • All-state selection named to the Clarion-Ledger's 2009 Mississippi "Dandy Dozen" team • Tabbed the 2009 Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Player of the Year • Recipient of Tupelo HS's Cy Young Award • Earned all-state, all-district and all-north state honors as a junior, helping lead the Golden Wave to a 32-7 mark and state runner-up honors in 2008 • Fashioned a 10-1 record with a 1.95 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 71.1 innings of pitching • Also compiled a .367 batting average • Finished with a 6-0 record on Tupelo's 34-5 team in 2007 Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Key Club • Played summer league baseball with the Tupelo 49ers, coached by former MSU baseball signee Kirk Presley.
