CAREER:
Preseason All-American selection • A .242 career hitter with 65 starts (61 in the outfield) in 75 games played the last two seasons • Two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll Selection.

2012:
Started 60 of 61 games played as a sophomore • Started 33 games in center field following the injury to C.T. Bradford • Also opened 15 games in left field and 12 in right field • Hit .252 and ranked second on the team with 58 hits and 20 extra-base hits, including 16 doubles and four home runs • Set the school record with an SEC-leading 10 outfield assists • Turned in a career-best eight-game hitting streak (Mar. 13 to Mar. 25) • Carded 14 games with multiple-hits • Set a career mark with three hits and four RBI against Lipscomb (Mar. 3)  • Matched his personal-best for hits with back-to-back three-hit games at Florida (May 11-12) • Hit .538 (7-for-13) during the three-game road series against the fifth-ranked Gators • Also matched his career-best for RBI with a four-RBI, two-home run game in the series-opener against Arkansas (Mar. 23) • Ranked third on the team with seven stolen bases in eight attempts • Hit .254 with 10 doubles and 12 RBI in 30 SEC starts • Did not pitch in 2012 • Caught the final two innings against Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 25) • Named to the 2012 SEC Academic Honor Roll • Summer league all-America team selection and MVP of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League last summer, setting league marks with 19 home runs, 52 runs scored and 57 RBI playing for the Bethesda (Md.) 2011: 
Saw playing time as a pitcher, outfielder, catcher and designated hitter/pinch hitter in 20 rookie season games played  with five starts • Hit .154 with two RBI in 26 at-bats and finished with a 9.64 ERA in 4.2 innings of mound duty • Made his debut as a pinch hitter and in right field in MSU's season-opener against Akron (Feb. 18) • Tossed an inning of scoreless relief the next day against Akron (Feb. 19) • Drew a bases-loaded walk and later scored his first career run in MSU's win over Alabama A&M (Mar. 30) • Made his debut as a starter (DH) against Alabama (May 1) and lashed a double for his first career hit in a start (DH) at Tennessee (May 7) • Also hit safely in his next three games (all starts) • Drew his first defensive start in left field at Tennessee (May 8) • Hit .200 in seven SEC games played (four hits) and made four relief appearances (2.2 innings) against league foes • Enjoyed a stellar season of summer league baseball with the Bethesda (Md.) Big Train of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League • Hit .305 with a club-record and league-best eight home runs and earned a save in his lone pitching performance in leading Bethesda to its third straight CRCL title • Honored as a summer league All-American • Among six Bulldog yearlings named to the 2011 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: 
Multi-sport standout at Copiah Academy in Gallman, Miss. • Coached by Scooter Prince • First-team all-state and all-district selection and honored as the 2010 Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Player of the Year • Hit .583 with 49 hits, 70 RBI, five doubles, five triples and an MAIS-record 20 home runs • Helped lead the Colonels to a 27-9 finish and the Academy State 3A championship • Walked 62 times and scored 58 runs as a senior • Pilfered 16 bases in 18 attempts • Used primarily as a catcher but also saw playing time as a pitcher and in the outfield • Compiled a 4-0 record with a save, a 3.91 earned run average and 28 strikeouts in 14.1 innings of mound duty • Earned MVP honors in the 2010 Academy 3A-2A All-Star Game in Jackson • Team and MAIS MVP • Hit .400 or better in each of his four seasons at Copiah Academy • Posted a .425 batting average with 15 home runs as a junior in 2009, earning the second of his three all-district honors • Also starred for the Copiah Academy Colonels in football, track and basketball • Played USSA summer league baseball with the Mississippi Worth Bandits, coached by George Hartzog.
