STARKVILLE, Miss. – Twenty-two former Mississippi State baseball players are currently in professional baseball, including four currently playing in Big Leagues. Below are their updated stats following games which ended Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Please tweet any corrections to @HailStateBB.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • San Francisco Giants legend Will Clark appeared on Buster Olney’s podcast (39:45 in)
  • Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon is tied for fifth in the MLB with 11 saves.
  • Big leaguer Tyler Moore hit his third home run of the season for the Washington Nationals May 12 at Arizona.
  • Texas Rangers slugger Mitch Moreland has raised his average from .254 at the end of April to .302 as of last night. Moreland has hits in seven of his last eight games.
  • Former Johnny Bench Award winner Ed Easley homered in Tuesday’s win vs. Round Rock. Check out the Memphis Redbirds feature on the former Bulldog.
  • Baseball America went in depth on Hunter Renfroe.
  • In the Class A Advanced California League, Hunter Renfroe is tied for sixth with 27 RBIs, tied for seventh with seven home runs and is tied for 10th with 74 total bases.
  • Renfroe is currently riding a five-game hitting streak, hitting .318 during the streak.
  • Devin Jones is tied for second with four wins in the Double A Texas League (4-2).
  • Evan Mitchell picked up his first win of the 2014 campaign with two shutout innings May 12 against the South Bend Silver Hawks.
