STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second consecutive season, the Mississippi State women’s golf team earned a place in the NCAA Central Regional, the program’s first consecutive regional appearances since the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
The Bulldogs are headed to Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., as the 11th seed to tee off on May 8-10. The top-8 teams of each of the three NCAA regionals will earn a place in the NCAA Championships on May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
“We are determined to finish off the record-setting year with another national championship push through regionals,” fourth-year head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “We are hungry, more experienced and ready for Tulsa Country Club, but first comes Karsten Creek. We train daily to play our best when it means the most.”
MSU will be joined by Southeastern Conference foes No. 4 Arkansas, No. 10 Alabama, No. 16 LSU, No. 22 Florida and top-seeded No. 2 UCLA. State, Kansas, Texas, UNLV, Colorado, SMU, Minnesota, Harvard, Lamar, Wichita State, LIU-Brooklyn and Siena.
This season has been a memorable one for Brown-Lemm’s squad that has comprised two tournament championships, seven top-10 scorecards and new 18-, 36-, and 54-hole record scores.
