Coming into the match with two goals and an assist in the previous game, Ferrara scored the opener and the match-winner for the Bulldogs in an exciting encounter.
Ferrara opened up the scoring from the penalty spot after drawing the penalty with six minutes to play in the opening period. The January enrollee from Tampa, Fla., made no mistake with the spot kick as she rifled the ball into the roof of the net.
GSU took the lead with two goals in the second 30-minute period before MSU rallied with two goals in the final stanza. Shelby Jordan netted her first goal of the spring as she galloped down the right side of the field before placing her shot past the keeper at the far post. Ferrara completed the Bulldogs comeback as she scored the match-winner with 16 minutes remaining.
Gordon’s squad will wrap up the spring slate when it hosts Alabama at 7 p.m. on Thursday as part of Super Bulldog Weekend. Admission to the game at the MSU Soccer Field is free.
