STARKVILLE, Miss. – Aaron Gordon has seen progress from his Mississippi State soccer team in spring workouts, and he hopes that growth continues Sunday as the Bulldogs head to Madison to meet Southeastern Louisiana in a 1 p.m. kickoff at Madison Central High School.
The Bulldog players and coaches will be available to sign autographs following the exhibition contest.
“This has been a really good spring season for us so far. A number of young players have been able to play significant minutes, and our mid-year signees have been able to gain valuable experience that will help the team this fall,” Gordon said. “We are excited to be going back to the Jackson area again this weekend, and we hope our great Bulldog fans can come out and support us.”
It will be the second-straight weekend MSU heads to the Jackson area, as State claimed a 1-0 win against Northwestern State last Saturday at Freedom Ridge Park.
Rising senior Shannen Jainudeen netted the winner, her second goal in as many matches this spring. The Bulldog defense made it stand en route to pitching the shutout.
Following Sunday’s contest, the Bulldogs return to the MSU Soccer Field to wrap the spring with two free exhibitions. Gordon’s squad hosts Georgia State April 6 at 11 a.m. before Alabama comes to town at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, to kick off Super Bulldog Weekend presented by Regions.
