Starkville, Miss. – In a throwback to old Southeastern Conference days, the No. 13 Mississippi State baseball team will play a doubleheader with Arkansas Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Friday’s game was postponed one day due to the threat of inclement weather.
Tickets to Friday’s game will be honored at Saturday’s double dip, with Saturday’s chairback tickets taking precedence over Friday’s chairback tickets. All Friday chairback tickets will be considered general admission tickets Saturday.
Since 2012, Mississippi State has played in nine home doubleheaders, owning a league-best 16 wins during that span (16-2). In its last conference twin bill at The Dude, the Maroon and White swept Alabama by scores of 10-6 and 5-4 (May 4, 2013).
Last Saturday, 10,064 fans showed up to Dudy Noble Field to watch MSU defeat No. 3 Vanderbilt by a 6-3 margin in a game which was televised in over 75 million households on ESPNU. The crowd marked the 32nd time in the history of “The Dude” more than 10,000 fans attended a game.
