STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following the 2014 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, Mississippi State men’s and women’s track and field teams currently hold the No. 13 and No. 15 spots, respectively, in the latest USTFCCCA Team Rankings released on Tuesday.

The MSU women finished eighth at the SEC Indoor Championships over the weekend in College Station to boost eight spots from last week’s ranking of 23rd.

“Having both of our teams in the Top 15 feels great,” MSU coach Steve Dudley said. “While our athletes deserve this recognition, the goal is to keep improving. Ultimately, we are not focused on rankings.”

The SEC currently has six teams in the men’s USTFCCCA Top 25, as Florida, Arkansas and Texas A&M hold the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots, respectively. On the women’s side, eight SEC teams can be found in this week’s rankings, the most of any conference in the country.

A select group of Bulldogs will compete in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 12-15 at NCAA Indoor Nationals.
