STARKVILLE, Miss. – Seniors Candace Foster and Katia May will play their final regular-season home game in Maroon and White as Mississippi State hosts No. 12 Kentucky for Senior Night Thursday at 7 in Humphrey Coliseum.

Foster, a Jackson native, is a two-time member of the SEC Community Service Team selection and SEC Academic Honor Roll. May, who hails from York, Ala., has led Vic Schaefer’s squad in assists each of the last two seasons and is currently fifth in the SEC with 5.2 assists this year.

“We couldn’t have practice last season without Candace, which speaks to her work ethic and her attitude and how it permeates through the team,” head coach Vic Schaefer said. “Katia has brought our team so much energy with how hard she plays. It has been very special to see how much she has grown the past two seasons.”

Tickets for the contest are $5 for adults and free for youth high school age and under. Free Hail State Frisbees will be given away along with free pizza for students while supplies last.

Fans can also arrive at 6 p.m. and enjoy games, inflatables and more at Bully’s Kidz Kourt located in Mize Pavilion.

The contest will be broadcast in the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas on WKBB-FM 100.9 and in Tupelo on WXWX-FM 96.3. Live video and audio streams will be available to HailStateTV subscribers at www.hailstate.com/hstvlive.

The Bulldogs sport an 18-10 overall record and a 5-9 mark in league play after a thrilling 72-70 overtime victory against archrival Ole Miss on Sunday. Martha Alwal’s career performance of 25 points and 23 rebounds in the win earned her SEC Player of the Week honors a week after freshman Breanna Richardson was tabbed the league’s top rookie.

Alwal was also named a finalist for the C Spire Gillom Trophy that will be presented Monday, March 3. Alwal, who won the trophy last season, paces the Bulldogs with a 15.9 scoring clip and is fourth in the conference with 8.9 rebounds per game.

The Wildcats (20-7, 8-6) head to Starkville after claiming an 83-74 win against No. 13 Texas A&M on Sunday. Jennifer O’Neill leads UK with 13.5 points a game, while Samarie Walker is fifth in the league with 8.8 boards per outing.

MSU has excelled on its home court this season, boasting a 13-3 record that ties the school record for the most home wins in a season. State enters Thursday having won four of its last five at the Hump.

Following Thursday’s Senior Night clash, the Bulldogs will travel to Athens Sunday for the regular-season finale against Georgia. SportSouth will televise the Noon CT tilt at Stegeman Coliseum.
