STARKVILLE, Miss. – Magnolia State rivals meet for the second time this season as Mississippi State hosts Ole Miss at 2 p.m. Sunday at Humphrey Coliseum.

The tilt can be heard in the Golden Triangle area on WMXU-FM 106.1 and subscribers can access live video and audio of the game at www.Hailstate.com/HSTVLive.

Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and free for youth high school age and under.

Sunday will be ESL Student Life Day, and Bully’s Kidz Kourt begins at 1 p.m. in Mize Pavilion with a special appearance by the MSU spirit squads.

Free pizza will be available to students while supplies last, and fans can claim some great rewards through Maroon Memories by signing up at www.hailstate.com/memories.

The Bulldogs enter the contest with 17-10 overall and 4-9 in SEC play after dropping a tough 72-64 overtime decision at Alabama on Thursday. Martha Alwal posted her eighth double-double of the season for MSU with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Alwal paces Vic Schaefer’s squad with a 15.5 scoring clip and is also fifth in the conference in rebounding with 8.5 boards a game. Kendra Grant is second on the team with 11.2 points per outing after netting 14 points in Tuscaloosa.

The Rebels (10-17, 1-12) have lost seven games in a row by double digits. Tia Faleru is third in the SEC with 17.0 points a game and leads the league with a 9.7 rebounding average. Valencia McFarland records 16.0 points per outing and is second in the conference in assists with 6.4 a game.

The Bulldogs have won six-straight against the Rebels at home and 10 of 14 at The Hump since the 2000 season. State will look to halt a two-game Ole Miss win streak after the Rebels rallied for an 87-85 overtime decision in Oxford on Jan. 23. The Maroon and White claimed a 72-57 win in Starkville last season.

Following Sunday’s rivalry clash, Mississippi State will host its final Hail State Hoops luncheon of the season Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Fans can RSVP by calling (662) 325-0198 or via e-mail at dbrown@athletics.msstate.edu.

The Dawgs remain at home Thursday, wrapping the regular season with a 7 p.m. tip against Kentucky. Prior to the game, MSU will honor senior players Candace Foster and Katia May.
