MSU Women’s Tennis To Wrap Up Non-SEC Play With Saturday DH
The first match is scheduled to begin at noon, with the next match set for a 4 p.m. start. Live stats will be available on hailstate.com. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 6-2 overall record and are coming off of a 7-0, 6-0 sweep of Jackson State on Wednesday at home.
No. 72-ranked Georgiana Patrasc bounced back from a Sunday loss to improve her dual match record to 5-2 on Wednesday. Senior Roseline Dion also continued her hot start with a pair of victories to improve to 8-0 on the season. Sophomore Petra Ferancova picked up her first singles victories of the season, and freshman Rosalinda Calderon also captured two more victories to improve to 3-3 on the dual match season.
Head coach Daryl Greenan hopes to see his team remain competitive through the weekend, and carry that over into conference play.
“We want to kind of build on a little bit of momentum that we’ve had,” said Greenan. “The girls did a good job (against Jackson State) taking care of business…they weren’t distracted. They were focused and got it done. We talked about, regardless of the outcome, we want to play to get better every match. We’re going to have to do that to compete in a strong SEC.”
