The first match is slated to begin at 3 p.m., with the second match scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Live stats will be available on hailstate.com.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools in women’s tennis and only the fourth match all-time for State against a SWAC opponent. The Bulldogs will also face two more SWAC opponents - Alabama A&M and Alcorn State - in a doubleheader on Saturday.
Despite a split in this past weekend’s action, seniors Rosie Dion and Alexandra Perper made it through the weekend unscathed, keeping their undefeated dual match season records intact. Currently at 6-0, Dion is off to the best season start of her career, while Perper sits at 5-0 and is looking to surpass her previous best start of 7-0 in 2012.
Sophomore Georgiana Patrasc still leads the team in the national rankings, standing at No. 72 in the country in singles.
The Bulldogs will come into the match with just one day of practice, coming off the heels of a Texas road trip this past weekend.
“It’s a quick turnaround,” said head coach Daryl Greenan. “We’ve had one day of practice before our doubleheader tomorrow and it was kind of a recovery and preparation day. I think we’re ready to get back into competition tomorrow and we’ll see what we got.”
