STARKVILLE, Miss. – With top marks in the classroom, the Mississippi State men’s and women’s cross country teams were awarded All-Academic honors as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Friday.

“I’m extremely proud of these squads,” MSU coach Houston Franks said. “Not only do they train hard, but they also put the same amount of effort into their studies, which is very important. They deserve this recognition."

The MSU men hold a 3.47 GPA, while the women boast a 3.64 GPA.

Furthermore, freshman Rhianwedd Price was named to the Individual All-Academic honor list. In just her first season, Price was a leader for the Lady Bulldogs, claiming the team’s top spot (12th, 20:33.58) in the 6K at the NCAA South Regional in November.  Price, who came to MSU from Llandrindod Wells, U.K., is majoring in animal and dairy science.
