Bulldogs Face Georgia In Key SEC Showdown At The Hump
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Georgia is one of three SEC teams Mississippi State has a winning record against, and the Bulldogs hope to keep it that way when the two meet at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Humphrey Coliseum.
The game will be televised by Fox Sports South, with Dave Baker and Larry Conley handling the broadcast.
To honor Breast Cancer Awareness, Mississippi State will wear pink shoes.
MSU, 53-52 all-time against UGA, is looking to snap a five-game losing streak following Saturday’s 69-59 setback to No. 18 Kentucky.
State’s last win came against Auburn back in late January.
However, the Bulldogs have enjoyed success against Georgia, winning eight out of the last 10 in Starkville. Last year, MSU claimed a 72-61 win in Athens.
Against the Wildcats, Sword and Ware, along with Trivante Bloodman, finished with 12 points each.
Georgia (12-10, 6-4) comes to Starkville riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak after turning back LSU and Texas A&M last week. Charles Mann leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 13.5 points, while Marcus Thornton is tops on the boards at 5.8.
Following Wednesday’s outing, the Bulldogs return to the road for a two-game stretch, starting at Auburn on Saturday (12:30 p.m., SEC TV) and concluding on Wednesday at LSU (7 p.m., SEC TV). Their next home game is Feb. 22 against Arkansas, where all former players will be recognized as part of Alumni Weekend.
