MSU Sends Four To Compete In Lady Bulldog Individual Championship
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Building off the record fall season, the Mississippi State women’s golf team will have Rica Tse, Blaise Carabello, Logan Chaney and Izel Pieters participate in the second annual Lady Bulldog Individual Championship in Athens.
The two-round event will be held on Saturday at the par-72, 6,335-yard University of Georgia Golf Course.
“We are looking forward to playing at UGA. We have fond memories at the course,” MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. “Individual events are a way to get experience for those just missing the lineup or to dust the cobwebs off the competitive mind.”
The Southeastern Conference foes of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee will be represented in Athens. Rounding out the field will be individuals from Chattanooga, Georgia Regents University, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Mercer and Samford.
Brown-Lemm’s squad returns to UGA Golf Course for the first time since the course hosted the school’s first ever NCAA Championship appearance last season. The Bulldogs will make another venture to Athens when they play in the Liz Murphey Invitational on April 4-6.
Junior Rica Tse was a part of the magical run last season and followed that up with a 73.44 scoring average for the fall, good for 12th in the SEC. Blaise Carabello will play in her fourth event of the season with a top-10 finish in the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational this season.
Both rounds on Saturday will be shotgun rounds with the first beginning at 7:45 a.m. CST. The second round will immediately begin after the first round comes to a close.
Post-round results will be available through Hailstate.com.
