STARKVILLE, Miss. - After taking a break from play last weekend, the No. 75 Mississippi State women’s tennis team (2-1) will return to action on Saturday, hosting UAB and Tennessee Martin in a doubleheader at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre on campus.

Saturday’s first match is slated to begin at 11 a.m., when the Bulldogs host UAB. MSU will then face UT Martin at 3 p.m. Live stats for both matches will be provided on

The Bulldogs haven’t played since Jan. 26, when they defeated No. 68 San Jose State in the consolation match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at Texas A&M. That win helped lift the Bulldogs back into the national rankings.

“The girls are working hard and have been playing well,” said head coach Daryl Greenan. “Hopefully they can stay confident through the weekend and pick up a couple of wins.”

Heading into the weekend, No. 84 ranked Georgiana Patrasc will try to go for her second victory of the 2014 dual match season. Senior Roseline Dion will try to keep her undefeated record through the weekend. Freshman Rosalinda Calderon will also be looking for her first collegiate victory this weekend in both singles and doubles action.
