Bulldogs Host No. 6 Gamecocks Thursday For Resident Life Night

Mississippi State hosts No. 6 South Carolina Thursday. Bully's Kidz Kourt starts at 6.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following an impressive home win against Georgia on Sunday, Mississippi State looks to defend its home court once again as it hosts No. 6 South Carolina Thursday at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the contest are $5 for adults and free for youth high school age and under. Thursday night will be Resident Life Night, with free Hail State backpacks being given away at the Resident Life table prior to tip and a one lucky student winning an autographed cowbell during the contest.

Free pizza will be available for students pregame while supplies last, and young fans can enjoy games, inflatables and more at Bully’s Kidz Kourt, which begins at 6 p.m. in Mize Pavilion.

Mississippi State’s men’s and women’s tennis will be at Bully’s Kidz Kourt signing autographs.

Fans can also go to hailstate.com/memories and register to win Maroon Memories at the contest. Memories for Thursday’s game include Anthem Buddies, a personal visit and on-court visit with Bully and the opportunity to participate in the Cadence This Or That Challenge.

Fans unable to come to the Hump can listen in the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas on WKBB-FM 100.9 and in Tupelo on WXWX-FM 96.3. Live video and audio streams will be available to HailStateTV subscribers at hailstate.com/hstvlive.

The Bulldogs enter the matchup with a 16-7 overall record and a 3-6 mark in league play. MSU won its second-consecutive home game Sunday as it claimed an 80-67 victory against Georgia. Martha Alwal led Vic Schaefer’s squad with 20 points, while Katia May added a career-high 17 points.

Alwal paces the Maroon and White with a 15.4 scoring clip and 8.6 rebounds per game. Kendra Grant adds 11.8 points per game, while May averages 8.3 points and 5.6 assists an outing.

The Gamecocks are 20-2 overall and lead the SEC with an 8-1 conference record. USC has won four in a row after suffering its lone conference setback, a 67-65 overtime decision at Texas A&M. Dawn Staley’s team earned a 78-62 home win against Missouri on Sunday.

Tiffany Mitchell leads South Carolina in points (15.5), assists (3.6), and steals (2.5). Alaina Coates tops her squad in rebounding with 8.0 boards per game.

Mississippi State holds a 16-13 lead in the all-time series against USC, including a 9-4 record against the Gamecocks inside The Hump.
