STARKVILLE, Miss. - After a stellar showing in Birmingham last weekend, Mississippi State indoor track and field returns to the Magic City in search of even more success at the Auburn Indoor Invitational.

The Tiger-hosted event slated for Jan. 18 at the Birmingham SportsPlex will feature 12 teams, including six from the Southeastern Conference.

“Our team did really well last week at our first meet of the season, so I am very confident that we will keep getting better from here,” junior sprinter Ocian Archer said. “Our team has a lot of potential, and I’m especially excited about the contribution the newcomers can make this year.”

At last year’s Auburn Indoor Invitational, the Bulldogs outshined their competition, breaking both the men’s and women’s meet records in the 400-meter distance medley. MSU captured nine Top 10 finishes in its memorable showing and looks to improve upon those accomplishments on Saturday.

Action begins at 10 a.m. with the women’s weight throw before running events kick off at 1 p.m. with the women’s 60-meter dash. The meet will conclude with the men’s and women’s 4x400-meter relays at 7:40 p.m.

Live meet results can be found at www.deltatiming.com. For further updates and news, follow the team on Twitter (@HailStateTF).
