Geoff Collins To Speak At Thursday's Hail State Hoops Luncheon

Hail State Hoops welcomes @HailStateFB's Geoff Collins as the guest speaker for Thursday's luncheon.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The “Minister of Mayhem” and the “Secretary of Defense” come together Thursday as Mississippi State defensive coordinator Geoff Collins will be the guest speaker for head coach Vic Schaefer’s first Hail State Hoops luncheon of 2014.

Doors open at 11:15 a.m., with the meal beginning at 11:30. For $12, attendees get lunch, the chance to win a door prize, football talk with Collins and hoops talk with Schaefer and the Bulldog coaching staff and team.

Collins’ Bulldog defense held Rice to 145 total yards, 61 on the ground, in helping State cap the 2013 season with a 44-7 win in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

Schaefer’s squad returns to action Sunday with a 2 p.m. tip at Arkansas. The game will be broadcast on WKBB-FM 100.9 and WXWX-FM 96.3 in Tupelo.

Mississippi State returns home Jan. 16, hosting No. 8 Tennessee in an 8 p.m. tip on Comcast SportsSouth.

After Thursday, State will host three more luncheons Jan. 21, Feb. 11 and Feb. 25.
