Craig Sword has been scoring at a blistering pace for Coach Rick Ray’s squad, as he has amassed 70 combined points in his last three games. The sophomore has scored at least 22 points in three-straight games, and he leads the team with 15.3 points an outing.
MSU currently leads the Southeastern Conference in steals, averaging 9.0 swipes per game. Sword paces the squad with 15 steals, while Trivante Bloodman has recorded 11.
The Rattlers (2-7) dropped a 72-62 decision to Hampton in their last outing on Dec. 7. Florida A&M has not won a road game all season. Jamie Adams leads his team with a 17.9 scoring clip, while Reggie Lewis also averages 11.9 points a game.
The Bulldogs hold a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against FAMU. The last meeting came in 2004-05, as MSU captured a 104-80 victory at The Hump.
Mississippi State will host Florida Gulf Coast in its next game on Thursday. CSS will televise the 8 p.m. tilt.
