STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State wraps a four-game homestand Tuesday night, hosting Savannah State in a 6 p.m. tip at Humphrey Coliseum.

Tuesday’s 6 p.m. contest is Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, with MSU faculty and staff receiving free admission with a valid staff ID.

In addition to free admission for faculty and staff, free pizza will be available for students while supplies last.

Tickets for the contest are $5 for adults and free for youth high school age and under.

Bully’s Kidz Kourt begins at 5 p.m., with inflatables and other games available on the Mize Pavilion practice court. Tennis shoes are required for Bully’s Kidz Kourt.

The contest will be broadcast on WKBB-FM 100.9 in the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas, as well as WXWX-FM 96.3 in Tupelo. HailStateTV subscribers can access the live video and audio streams at www.hailstate.com/hstvlive.

Head coach Vic Schaefer’s squad enters the contest 4-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season following a 90-45 win against Tennessee Tech on Thursday.

Junior Savannah Carter paced four Bulldogs in double figures with 21 points. Classmates Kendra Grant and Martha Alwal followed with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Alwal registered her first double-double of the season and the 20th of her career, the second-most among active SEC players.

Grant leads the Dawgs in scoring this season with a 17.0 average that ranks third in the league.

Alwal rates sixth in the SEC with a 15.3 scoring average, but she is knocking down shots at a league-best 64.9 percent. The Worthington, Minn., native also ranks third in the conference with 2.5 blocks per contest.

Carter has made an instant impact on the squad, scoring double figures in all four contests for a 13.3 average. She has also been sensational on defense, tallying an SEC second-most 3.3 steals per game.

Savannah State comes to the Hump sporting a 3-2 record. The Tigers dropped decisions to host Baylor and Northwestern State while picking up a 51-50 win against Texas-San Antonio in last weekend’s Athletes In Action Classic.

Ezinne Kalu, who scored 20 points in a 70-55 setback in Starkville last season, paces Savannah State with 12.2 points per game.

Tiyonda Davis tops SSU with 5.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game.
