Ramey Within Reach Of Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational Title
Ramey’s 13-under 131 total score from the Aloha State has not only put him in position to win the WPMI title, but also in position to etch his name in the school record book. If Ramey can turn in a 66 or lower on Wednesday he will own the lowest-tournament score in program history (Alex Rocha 198).
After turning in a season-low 274 on Monday, the third-place Bulldogs shot an 11-under-par 277 to finish the second round five shots behind leader Cal State Fullerton.
"It was another pretty good day for us,” Bulldog coach Clay Homan said. “Just like yesterday, we played holes 1-9 at 3 under and made several birdies on the back nine. We are in a great position to win tomorrow, but we need to play the front nine a little better overall. Chad has positioned himself to win individually as well with another good round tomorrow."
Senior Joe Sakulpolphaisan enters Wednesday poised for his second top 10 of the season after shooting a 4-under 68 to sit at 7-under 137 for the tourney.
Back to back 2-under 70’s have placed sophomore Ben Wood into a tie for 18th overall. Wood is coming off a 6th-place finish at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate.
Seniors Barrett Edens and Axel Boasson are both tied for 53rd overall after finishing at 1-over and 1-under, respectively, on Tuesday.
Homan’s squad will hit the links at 11:30 a.m. CST for the third and final round.
