STARKVILLE, Miss. – As the 2013 fall campaign carries on, Mississippi State men’s tennis coach Per Nilsson is already preparing for the upcoming spring dual match season, announcing the signing of Egbert Weverink who will join the program in January 2014.

Weverink hails from the Netherlands, where he was top 100 in the men’s rankings. With the addition of Weverink, the Bulldogs’ roster will now move up to seven players, with three freshmen, one sophomore, one junior and two seniors comprising the MSU squad.

“After talking to Egbert (Weverink), it was clear to us what he was looking for in a program and we felt like he would fit in perfect with us,” Nilsson said. “He wants to develop into a top player and he knows he has the opportunity to do that here at Mississippi State. We are looking forward to working with Egbert and cannot wait for him to get here.”
