MSU Men’s Tennis Heads To Birmingham For USTA Futures

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Following an impressive showing at the 2013 USTA/ITA Southern Region Championships, which saw senior Malte Stropp claim the singles crown, the Mississippi State men’s tennis squad now travels to Birmingham, Ala., for the USTA Players’ Choice Open.

Representing the Bulldogs in qualifying play will be Stropp, along with sophomore Jordan Angus. Throughout the fall campaign, Stropp has put together a 6-4 record, winning his last six matches. Angus is 5-3 for the fall, winning three of his last four.

The Players’ Choice Open is the first of two USTA Futures events the Bulldogs will be participating in for the fall. MSU will also participate in the USTA Pensacola Futures, which begins Friday, Oct. 25.
