STARKVILLE, Miss. – Excitement is high as the Mississippi State women’s golf team will host the second annual Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational on Sept. 30 - Oct. 2 at the par-72, 6,113-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.
MSU will welcome six teams from last season’s field, including Cincinnati, Southern Miss, Memphis, South Alabama, Murray State and South Florida. Newcomers to the field are Florida International, Georgia State, East Tennessee State and East Carolina.
Looking for her seventh-consecutive top-10 finish, junior Ally McDonald again claims the top spot in Ginger Brown-Lemm’s lineup. McDonald finished tied for third a season ago with a 4-under-par performance.
The freshman duo of Jessica Peng and Ji Eun Baik will round out the MSU order for “The Waverly.” Gabi Oubre’, Logan Chaney, Blaise Carabello and debutant Izel Pieters will all be playing as individuals.
Pieters will be the first Bulldog to tee off at 9:41 a.m. CST Monday, while MSU’s team lineup will open the first round at 10:25 a.m. CST.
Admission to the event is free, and MSU students can earn Hail State reward points for attending each round.
