STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State opens an 11-game SEC slate this weekend as it hosts Missouri Friday in a 7 p.m. kickoff at the MSU Soccer Field.

All youth players in the Starkville Soccer Association are invited to Friday’s match, and the first 100 fans will receive free Mississippi State water bottles.

In addition to a number of halftime contests, fans can win prizes through the team’s Facebook page (HailStateSOC) and get autographs from the Bulldogs postgame.

Aaron Gordon’s squad enters league play 3-4 overall and looking to build on a 4-2 victory against Jackson State a week ago.

Senior Elisabeth Sullivan continued to be the offensive spark for Mississippi State, recording the first hat trick since 2001 to bring her 2013 goals tally to an SEC-best and NCAA ninth-most eight.

Freshman Annebel ten Broeke has been instrumental in setting up Sullivan’s success, assisting on five of her eight goals.

The Amsterdam, Netherlands, native recorded a trio of assists and a goal last Sunday, the first Bulldog since 2001 to tally three assists in a game.

Ten Broeke rates second in the SEC with six assists this season, and she has also found the net three times in her young Bulldog career.

Freshman Meara Johnson joined ten Broeke as one of eight freshmen starters last Sunday. In her first collegiate start, Johnson stopped a pair of shots while earning the win.

She has tallied 11 saves this season, while senior CJ Winship paces the Dawgs with 23 stops in six games.

Mississippi State faces a Missouri squad that sits at 4-4 on the season. The Tigers wrapped the pre-SEC bill with a 3-0 win against Eastern Illinois and a 3-2 road setback at No. 17 Portland State.

Taylor Grant paces Mizzou with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists), while Kaysie Clark has proved another scoring option with three strikes and two assists.

McKenzie Sauerwein returns in goal and has stopped 30 shots while compiling a 1.25 goals-against average.
