Dawg Days of Summer Wrapping Up For Professional Bulldogs

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Eighteen Mississippi State baseball players are currently playing in professional baseball, with four in Major League Baseball and the remaining 14 on their road to the show via the minor leagues. More than half of Major League Baseball’s 30 organizations have a former Diamond Dawg playing or coaching for their organization. Below are their updated stats following games which ended Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013.

NOTES

  • VIDEO: Hunter Renfroe speaks about playing in the Midwest League Playoffs
  • Adam Frazier currently leads the Class A Short-Season New York-Penn League with a .406 on-base percentage.
  • Since being called up the MLB Washington Nationals on Aug. 17, Tyler Moore has tallied multiple hits six times in 10 games and is hitting .438 (14-for-32) with four runs and four RBIs.
  • In his final two appearances in his debut professional campaign with the GCL Tigers of the Rookie Gulf Coast League, Daryl Norris gave up no runs in three innings of relief.
  • In his final two appearances in his debut professional campaign with the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League, Luis Pollorena gave up no runs in 2.1 innings of relief.
  • Chris Stratton picked up the win in his last start (Aug. 29), moving to 9-3 for the Augusta GreenJackets of the Class A South Atlantic League.
