“I am thrilled Mississippi State is the first university to join Fancred with an official account,” said Fancred CEO Hossein Kash Razzaghi. “Now, MSU can connect directly with their students, alumni and fans through their Fancred account. Fans will be able to access everything from updates, behind-the-scenes footage and breaking news about their favorite Bulldog sports teams.”
Fancred, which on Aug. 26 named Mississippi State the most engaging fan base for the week of Aug. 19, was founded in Boston in late 2012 and officially launched the Fancred iPhone app in March of 2013. Fancred users earn a “Fancred Score,” a 1-to-100 point system that measures their overall engagement and activity on the application. In early August, professional baseball franchises began joining Fancred. The social media platform has also partnered with some of the biggest media outlets in the world, including NESN, Athlon Sports, FanSided, FanIQ, ESPN Radio affiliates and select SB Nation websites.
“As a life-long Bulldog fan and alumnus, this is an especially important milestone for me,” said Razzaghi, who graduated in 2003 with a degree in electrical engineering degree and received his MBA in Starkville in 2004. “I am beyond excited to work with the MSU Athletic Department in reaching their millions of fans all over the world.”
