18 Diamond Dawgs Playing Professional Baseball (Updated Stats)

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Eighteen Mississippi State baseball players are currently playing in professional baseball, with three in Major League Baseball and the remaining 14 on their road to the show via the minor leagues. Half of Major League Baseball’s 30 organizations have a former Diamond Dawg playing or coaching for their organization. Below are their updated stats following games which ended Monday, July 29, 2013.

NOTES

  • Adam Frazier is second in the New York-Penn League in batting average (.359)
  • Hunter Renfroe was named the Northwest League Player of the Week for the week ending July 28 (.414/.433/.828, 7 G, 12-for-29, 6 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 10 R, 1 BB, 1 SB)
  • Tyler Moore had a monster game July 29, going 3-for-5 with six RBIs, including two home runs and a double. One of those homers was a grand slam.
