Mississippi State Places 83 On SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State placed a total of 83 student-athletes on the 2013 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday.

MSU’s 83 honorees are the fourth-most student-athletes on the list in the sports in which State competes during the spring semester.

Mississippi State placed 23 baseball players, 17 women’s track athletes, 16 men’s track athletes and 13 softball players on the honor roll. Women’s golf, men’s tennis and women’s tennis each contributed four athletes, while men’s golf added two more.

MSU trailed only Auburn (100), South Carolina (96) and Missouri (91) on the list and finished ahead Florida and Georgia (79), Arkansas (78), Ole Miss (76), Kentucky and Texas A&M (71), Alabama (65), LSU (57), Tennessee (56) and Vanderbilt (39) in the sports in which Mississippi State competes during the spring semester.
