STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State women’s basketball has cancelled its June 20-22 Position Camp, but encourages campers to continue registering for its camp slate which begins June 8.

Players wishing to attend the Position Camp are encouraged by the Bulldog coaching staff to register for the June 16-19 Individual Camp.

For more information on the Individual Camp or any of the HailState Hoops camps, contact director Maryann Baker at mbaker@athletics.msstate.edu or (662) 325-0198. Registration for the 2013 camps is available at www.hailstate.com/camps.

The camps begin June 8-9 with the Elite Camp. Open to players in grades 9-12, the camp costs $150 for residents and $125 for commuters, and focuses on developing high school players’ individual skills sets and preparing them for the collegiate level.

Campers will also be given the opportunity to experience the typical day of a student-athlete, from spending time on the practice floor to watching game film with the coaches and learning the academic expectations required of student-athletes.

Mississippi State hosts its Day Camp for grades 2-7 June 10-13. The camp, which costs $65, runs each day from 8 a.m. to noon. The camp teaches fundamental skills to aspiring players through drills and other fun competitions.

Teams can test their skills and begin preparing for a championship season during a pair of Shootout Camps, one June 14 and the other June 15. Team cost is $250 per day, with squads being guaranteed three games.

Head coach Vic Schaefer and his staff wrap the camp slate with the Individual Camp, which is open to players in grades 5-12 and costs $275 for residents and  $200 for commuters.

With hands-on instruction from Schaefer, associate head coach Johnnie Harris and assistants Aqua Franklin and Brittany Hudson, campers will work on everything from position work and shooting to fast breaks and team practice while also dividing up and playing games.
