Diamond Dogs Enjoy Another Banner Year In Classroom: 3.25 GPA

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State’s 13th-ranked baseball team has backed its success on the diamond this spring with equally impressive triumphs in the classroom.

MSU players compiled a composite 3.25 grade point average in the just-concluded spring semester, with 24 of 34 players earning grade point averages of 3.00 or better.

Pitchers Trevor Fitts (Helena, Ala.) and Chad Girodo (Hartselle, Ala.) and catcher Zack Randolph (Amory, Miss.) recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs. They were joined on the President’s Scholar List by infielder Nick Flair (Belle Chasse, La.) and Hunter Renfroe (Crystal Springs, Miss.).

Infielders Adam Frazier (Bishop, Ga.) and Sam Frost (Hoover, Ala.), catcher Daniel Garner (Madison, Ala.), designated hitter Trey Porter (Hurley, Miss.), catcher Mitch Slauter (Olathe, Kans.) and pitcher Brandon Woodruff (Wheeler, Miss.) earned Dean’s Scholar List status.

Girodo and catcher Nick Ammirati (Sparta,N.J.) will graduate this spring while four other Diamond Dogs are positioned to complete their undergraduate degree work later this year.
