STARKVILLE, Miss. - No. 16 Mississippi State (22-6, 2-4 SEC) closes out its 20-game March schedule and plays its second consecutive SEC series on the road with this weekend’s three-game set at No. 11 Arkansas (19-7, 4-2 SEC). Game times at UA’s Baum Stadium/Cole Field are set for 6:35 p.m. Friday, 2:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday.

Friday’s game will be cablecast by Cox Sports Television while Cox Sports and Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) will televise Sunday’s series finale in conjunction with the SEC-TV package. Saturday's game will be available to HailStateTV subcribers through a shared link in the HSTV player (via Arkansas production). The radio broadcast of all three games will be carried on the statewide MSU Baseball Radio Network and also on HSTV, with Jim Ellis and Bart Gregory handling the call of the games.

MSU enters the weekend with the league’s No. 2 batting average (.310). Junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe (.427), on a career-best and team season-high 13-game hitting streak, paces the club with 36 RBI, nine home runs and 19 extra-base hits. He leads the SEC with a .902 slugging percentage. Renfroe, on the initial watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, has hit safely in 22 of his 23 games.

Another Bulldog on the Golden Spikes Award watch list, junior shortstop Adam Frazier (.396), begins the week with 44 hits, second-most in the SEC, and leads the league with 32 runs scored. Frazier has matched a career-best with a nine-game hitting streak. He continues to rate among the top defensive players in the SEC with a league-best 88 assists and has assisted with 32 of MSU’s NCAA-leading 38 double plays.

In their final home game in March Tuesday night, MSU plated eight runs in its last two at-bats to register a 13-5 win over Austin Peay (19-5) at Dudy Noble Field. Senior designated hitter Trey Porter (.298) belted his first home run of the season and joined senior catcher Nick Ammirati (.304) in registering career-best three-RBI plate performances to pace the Diamond Dogs.

The Bulldogs, in search of their first conference weekend series win, have tabbed senior lefty Luis Pollorena (4-0, 2.77) for his third start of the season and his sixth career SEC start in Friday’s series-opener. Senior right-hander Kendall Graveman (2-2, 2.84) will start Saturday. MSU has not designated a starter for Sunday’s series finale.

State continues play on the road next Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. game at No. 30 South Alabama (22-4).
