JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – With the wind chill dipping into the 30’s and gusts topping 40 miles-per-hour, the Mississippi State women’s golf team finished day one of the Briar’s Creek Invitational at 53-over-par, just four strokes shy of a eighth-consecutive Top 10 finish.

"Today was as tough as I have ever seen on a course without cancellation," third-year MSU head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "We are not 100 percent either with several players challenged by some medical issues. So we are focused on what we can control, which is our routine, attitude and persevere."

Gabi Oubre’ is currently the Lady Bulldogs’ leader. Through 36 holes, the freshman is 9-over but has posted par thus far in round two. Oubre’ is tied for 17th and in search of her second-consecutive Top 25 card.
