STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Mississippi State Lady Bulldog tennis squad (6-9, 0-7 SEC) returns to competition Sunday afternoon, taking on the No. 54 ranked Lady Tigers of LSU (8-9, 1-6) at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. Match time is set for 1 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs fell in a 4-0 decision in the team’s most recent match against the Lady Razorbacks of Arkansas Friday afternoon. Georgiana Patrasc fought hard to try and post a court 1 victory against Arkansas’s No. 68 ranked Yang Pang, but ultimately fell 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in a three-set battle.

Though doubles were not contested Friday, State is led in doubles by the 46th-ranked duo of Alexandra Perper and Naomi Tran. They are 6-3 this spring at the top spot in the lineup.

LSU fell 4-2 in its Friday road match against No. 36 ranked Ole Miss. Kaitlin Burns and Ella Taylor highlighted the day in singles competition for the Lady Tigers. Burns posted an impressive 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Ole Miss star, No. 37 ranked Caroline Rhode-Moe on court 1. Taylor notched the second point for LSU, taking down No. 66 Mai El Kamash 6-3, 6-1 on court 3.

Following Sunday's action, MSU’s next match will be on the road against No. 36 Ole Miss, a contest set for Friday, Mar. 29, at 1 p.m. Updates for MSU matches can be found through twitter (@mstateWT) or through live stats at hailstate.com.
