STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State Lady Bulldog tennis (5-2, 0-1 SEC) will continue its weekend of SEC competition against No. 5 Alabama (9-1, 1-0) Sunday. The match is set for 1 p.m. at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

MSU is coming off a tough 5-1 loss to No. 17 ranked Auburn Friday in its 2013 SEC opener. The match marked just the second singles loss of the season for veteran Alexandra Perper, who plays at the top spot for the Lady Bulldogs. She leads MSU with a 5-2 record overall in dual matches.

MSU freshman Georgiana Patrasc posted a solid come-from-behind victory in the Friday contest. The native of Bacau, Romania, took down Auburn's Michala Kucharova in a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0(7) decision at the No. 2 position and is now 5-3 this spring. Rookie Sarai Flores, who did not play in Friday's affair, is 5-2 this year.

In doubles, Perper and Naomi Tran continue to lead State, still perfect (5-0) in dual action.

Alabama is coming off a close 4-3 win at No. 42 ranked Ole Miss on Friday.

The Crimson Tide boasts four nationally-ranked singles players and one ranked doubles pair. Mary Anne Macfarlane holds the team's highest individual ranking, resting at the No. 20 nationally. In doubles, Alexa Guarachi and Macfarlane pair up to form the country's No. 4 tandem.
