"Erica performed like a champion today," coach Steve Dudley said. "Her performance would have ranked fourth in collegiate history and been a school record, but unfortunately she was disqualified in the final event. We look forward to seeing her compete again tomorrow."
Bougard began the day posting an impressive personal-best time of 8.35 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to capture the win in the event. With 1,050 points, the Byhalia, Miss., native was tied for first in the pentathlon heading into the high jump.
