STARKVILLE, Miss. - For the first time in 2013, the Mississippi State Lady Bulldog tennis squad (3-1) will take to the road with consecutive matches against the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Wisconsin Badgers Friday and Saturday. Both matches will take place at Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center.
Friday's match against No. 65 Minnesota (4-6) is set for 5 p.m. CT. The neutral site matchup against Wisconsin (1-6) will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs are coming off of a tough defeat against No. 36-ranked Oklahoma State last Saturday after opening the season 3-0 with wins over Southern Miss, Houston and New Orleans. State is led by veteran Alexander Perper, who is 2-1 at the top spot in the lineup thus far, with only a tough three-set loss blemishing her record. True freshman Sarai Flores is 3-1. State is 6-1 overall in doubles thus far in 2013 dual matches.
